Letter from Douglas Lugo, Show Director

Jun 04, 2020 - Dallas, TX

To our valued partners,

I hope this letter finds you, your family, friends, and colleagues doing well. It has been three months since the COVID-19 pandemic began. This has been an unprecedented time for all of us and none of us can lean on experience in dealing with anything of this measure.

We have been asked by many attendees and exhibitors about the CONSTRUCT Show. I want to confirm we are confidently moving forward with a live event on September 30 through October 2, in Grapevine (Dallas/Ft. Worth) at the Gaylord Texan Resort. The state of Texas is currently in phase 2 of its re-opening, and we are optimistic this momentum will continue to grow throughout the summer months and into the Fall.  Of course, we will be continuously monitoring the situation and following all federal and local guidance as it develops.

The questions of “Is it safe to travel?” and “Is it safe to attend a tradeshow?” are valid and questions we should all be prepared to ask ourselves as we jumpstart the industry. The CONSTRUCT Show team, along with The Gaylord Texan, the city of Dallas, our general contractor Freeman, and our Informa Markets Team have developed multiple safety plans to keep our exhibitors and attendees safe. CONSTRUCT will be organized in accordance with Informa’s AllSecure health and safety standard. As the world’s leading events’ organizer, Informa developed a detailed set of enhanced measures to provide the highest levels of hygiene and safety at its events, providing everyone with reassurance and confidence they are participating in a safe and controlled environment. We have planned for an optimally safe environment from the moment you check-in at registration to the closing of the show floor. A comprehensive plan can be found on our website at constructshow.com and of course, my team and I are always available to you should you have any further concerns.

In closing, I will say that we would not be moving forward with the live event if we didn’t feel that all of our partners, our CONSTRUCT team, and the city of Dallas were not actively planning for a safe experience for all of our customers come late September. It’s time to jump start the industry and we plan on doing that in a productive and responsible way. Registration opens for the CONSTRUCT Show on Monday, June 8th. If you have any questions about Informa AllSecure or any of the measures our partner venues and suppliers are taking to facilitate a safe environment, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Also rest assured that should optimism for a September return to business diminish in any way, we will not move forward with the event and you will receive a full refund. Your safety and wellbeing is of the utmost importance to us.

Thank you all and I look forward to seeing you in Grapevine September 30th.

Stay safe and healthy,

 Douglas Lugo, Show Director
