FR08 - Clean Building - Innovative Advancements in Concrete Technology, Pavement and Roadway Materials

Friday, October 11 from 2:45 PM to 3:45 PM « Back

The building and construction industry contributes to a significant percentage of our global carbon emissions.  During this session, we will explore innovative technology in major construction components that can help us to reduce our negative impact.  We will discuss advancements in concrete technology, pavement and roadway materials, and 3D/4D printing of construction materials to determine how these technologies can be successfully incorporated into the responsible expansion of our built environment.

Upon completion of this session, participants will be able to:
• Recognize how creating the built environment effects the global carbon footprint, and our responsibility to practice ‘clean building’
• Identify advances in concrete and how to implement this technology for sustainable construction
• Illustrate advances in materials and techniques that will allow us to build more earth friendly pavements and roadways
• Describe the use of advanced printing technology (3D/4D printing) for sustainable production of construction components
